There are two ways to prepare the placenta for encapsulation.
The first way is the Traditional Chinese Method (TCM). The placenta is steamed with lemon for its grounding properties, ginger for its circulatory properties and chilli for its warming properties.
Clients who wish to use capsules to reduce their chances of post-natal depression are likely to benefit from these as the results are more calming and subtle.
The second method is the raw/simple method. Here, the placenta is not steamed and is dehydrated raw.
Clients who wish to use the capsules to increase energy would benefit from the raw capsules as they yield a stronger energetic response.
The placenta is then dehydrated using a food dehydrator or oven for 8-20 hours until completely dry.
The dried placenta is ground into a powder and put into empty vegetable capsules. Vegetarian capsules are always used so that the capsules are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
